Scarlet Sage
Salvia Coccinea
Scarlet Sage is a species native to Florida that is identified by its vibrant red flowers that usually grow between spring and fall. It generally grows about 1-2 ft wide and 2-6 ft tall. The red flowers and brown fruit attract wildlife. This plant is often used in flower gardens and meadows and can add color and life to a homeowner’s yard. Although the bright flowers and fruits of the Scarlet Sage may be tempting to consume, this plant is not edible.
